Think of yourself now as a brand new creation, because that’s the truth. Your old life has passed away, (though some days it may not feel like it!) and your new life has begun. How exciting is that?
Just a baby has to learn everything; to sit up, to crawl, to walk and run, to eat and to talk, you too have much to learn about this new life. It’s a life long process so don’t be discouraged if it takes a while to feel the changes that have already begun in you. Your feelings will catch up with the truth.
The Holy Spirit will teach you, guide you and equip you all along the way. God promises to never leave your nor forsake you. Just keep looking up, keep praying, keep seeking and keep trusting in Him to do the work in you.
Because you are growing in your new life, surround yourself with other believers who will encourage you along the way. Find and get plugged in to a local bible believing church. Pray and ask God to lead you to the right one. He will.
As a public confession of your new faith in Jesus, let someone know about your decision to follow Christ. Another confession is getting baptized. Baptism does not save you, but it is a step of public confession and symbolism of your faith in Christ. As you go under the water and come up again, it symbolizes the death of your old life and the new life that has come. It’s pretty awesome!
Congratulations again on taking your first step of faith. You are loved more than you can possibly know and completely accepted in the Beloved.
Please take a moment to tell us here at Waterfall, about your decision too! We would love to hear your story!
